My Personal
Biography was created by Hollywood veteran writer, director
and producer Rocky Lang. While researching his acclaimed book, How
I Broke Into Hollywood (HarperCollins),
Rocky listened to the fascinating stories of nearly fifty Hollywood
survivors (Sydney Pollack, Peter
Gallagher, Charles Dutton, Bernie Mac, John Landis and many
others) as they revisited the highs and lows of their careers
and imparted the wisdom they gained along the way. Captivated
by the process of bringing such intimate recollections to
vivid life, Rocky launched My Personal Biography, featuring
writers with not just publishing experience, but also screen
writing experience. The result is an infinitely readable biography
as exciting as any true Hollywood story, and something for
generations to come to treasure, read and re-read (and not
just stick on a shelf!).
In addition to Rocky, the My
Personal Biography team includes
Diane Nabatoff and Trudi Roth. Diane is a prolific producer
of biographical movies (feature films and television movies)
including Antonio Banderas movie Take the Lead and A&E’s
critically acclaimed Knights of the South Bronx. Her passionate
championing of the true story and research methods and insights
make her an invaluable part of the team. Trudi was Vice President
of Creative Services and Marketing for New Video Group, the
exclusive video distributor of the acclaimed A&E Biography
series and other A&E/History Channel programs. In addition
to Trudi’s expertise in production and design, she has
written and edited several biographical books and pieces for
vanity press, including 70 Stories About Boston University (A Memoir by George K. Makechnie with Trudi Roth) and
Sue
Bailey Thurman: In Her Ownright.
Writers on our team include Bonnie Garvin who is just finishing
a personal biography on the life of MGM singer and movie star
